Apples

One tradition we love is apple picking. We have done it every year since Ramble was about 9 months old. Our favorite place to pick apples is at an orchard on the South Fork of Long Island. We really missed it this year but found a place to go here. By the time we got to the orchard, all the good apples were gone and we had to hunt really hard and stretch really high to find enough apples to fill 1 small bag. Even with not getting as many apples as we wanted, we still had a ton of fun.
Raptor loves picking flowers. She found 2, one for Ramble and one for her.
Daddy was our ladder to get to the ripe, non-buggy, non-hail damaged apples.

Raptor loved stretching and giving the apples a 'puh'. (That's pull in raptor squawk.)

I loved that the butterfly landed on the tree and snapped this shot. When I got home and looked at it on the computer, I saw the bumble bee on the apple. Cool!

Raptor said 'bum-bee' today for the first time! She loved the bees and butterflies and tried to chase them in the orchard.

We had a lot of fun!

  1. We always meant to do some apple picking in New York, but never did. What a fun tradition.
