Oh Pickles!

This year we went in with some friends and joined a CSA where we pay x amount and they (the farm) bring us fresh veggies each week.  Since I have such a green thumb (NOT) it has been great!  A benefit is that we can go to the farm and pick more veggies.  We did this last weekend on our way back from the marathon.  Monday was get everything ready to can and grate zucchini to freeze day.  Tuesday was pickles day (along with a really great play party at some friends home with all the primary kids).  Today was squash, corn, and pineapples to freeze and more pickles day.

Did you know that pickle juice can flare up and it bonds to stoves harder than super glue?  Or that zucchini juice can coat your hands just like Elmer's glue used to when you were in Kindergarten?  Well it's all true.  But we're getting our food in and as the kids have been saying, "Isn't it so cool that we are doing what our ancestors did?!"
